We do things a bit differently at Gisborne Peak Winery. We pride ourselves on cellar door service like it used to be – warm and friendly and not too serious! The winery has gone from strength to strength. Starting with a small cellar door and some outside seating on the verandas and an open air deck, it now has a large marquee for group gatherings that is fully heated and carpeted and has views over the lake. The open air deck is the most popular place to enjoy the views when the sun is shining, no matter which season it is. The verandas are fully enclosed with café blinds making them ‘dress circle seating’ all year round. And the new ‘Fireside Room’ offers additional seating by the warmth of the fire. Weekends are especially popular at the winery with visitors meeting family and friends. Wood-fired pizzas are served Friday – Sunday and all public holidays along with sizzling prawns and more. Taster’s Platters are served every day, and the pestos, cheese and sausages on them make a great accompaniment with the delicious wines. Espresso coffee and delicious cakes are also available daily. The wines continually win awards. All single-vineyard, estate grown wines are from Gisborne South property in the cool Macedon Ranges Wine Region. All are served by the glass or bottle and the new Sparkling Pinot Noir is to die for! For those non-wine drinkers, beer is also served as well as soft-drinks. Three eco-cottages are now available. They are self-contained, each with their own private deck and overlook the vines and the lake. They are powered by the sun and the wind, yet with all the creature comforts one expects. Whatever the season, whatever the reason, a visit to Gisborne Peak Winery is a must. Open 7-days from 11:00 a.m.
